Ele tentou sair do carrinho.

Agora, o time de Renato Gaúcho e Cia soma 17 pontos, contra 13 do Internacional.

Ravindra Jadeja pulls off a heist

Laughing all the way to the win was Ravindra Jadeja, who mixed educated edges and meaty blows superbly to take Chennai home with 38 off 20

The Report by Sidharth Monga13-Apr-2013
Scorecard and ball-by-ball details
The name’s Jadeja, Ravindra Jadeja: another day, another win•BCCIThe last time Royal Challengers Bangalore went to Chennai, Virat Kohli lost a won match when he bowled one over. The captain this time, Kohli lost a won game by handing over the ball to RP Singh, who conceded 16 in the last over, including a huge no-ball, which was caught at third man and would have won them the match had RP not overstepped – it was meant to be the final ball of the game. Laughing all the way to the win was Ravindra Jadeja, who mixed educated edges and meaty blows superbly to take Chennai Super Kings home with 38 off 20.After Ravi Rampaul and R Vinay Kumar removed the openers to reduce Super Kings to 10 for 2 in four overs, it was all uphill for the home side. Suresh Raina and S Badrinath rebuilt but when they fell Super Kings still needed 88 off 46. Vinay brought it to 65 off 30, conceding only six in the 15th over. Dhoni and Jadeja kept on hitting the odd boundary, one of them right out of the stadium, but the asking rate kept going up.With 29 required off the last two overs, Rampaul seemed to have sealed the deal with the wickets of Dhoni – for 33 off 23 – and Bravo – for 8 off 3 – in the 19th over. However, Kohli had a situation on his hands. Vinay had bowled out, and he had to choose between Daniel Christian and RP because the left-arm spinners would have turned or angled the ball into Jadeja’s natural swing. Christian had gone for just 13 in two overs, but has had a forgettable record bowling the final over in IPL games. So RP it was, and RP it was who bowled two length balls at the top of the over. Jadeja edged the first over short third man, but absolutely smoked the next one over long-on. The pressure was squarely on Royal Challengers now. Wearing the orange cap, reclaimed through an anchoring fifty earlier in the innings, Kohli misfielded the fourth ball at long-on, allowing the second. He had done so earlier too.Chris Morris, who had taken three wickets including the big one of Chris Gayle and two during the slog overs to keep Royal Challengers down to 165, accepted that couple and followed it with a single to make it two required off the last ball. Surreal scenes followed. RP bowled a bouncer, Jadeja ramped it straight to third man, Kohli thought he could yet end up on the right side of it until he saw the outstretched arm of the umpire and the celebrating Jadeja, who seems to be unable to do any wrong this season even if he tries.Replays showed this wasn’t just any ordinary no-ball, RP had overstepped by a foot. Kohli backed RP in the public, but there might be words spoken behind closed doors. Royal Challengers will also look at the last over when they batted, when Arun Karthik kept heaving and wasting deliveries as opposed to bringing to strike AB de Villiers, who scored a manic 64 off 32, full of sweeps against fast bowlers.

Fortuin leads SA to victory

Clyde Fortuin hit a composed 75 as South Africa Under-19s chased down their target with four overs to spare to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series against England

ESPNcricinfo staff13-Feb-2013
ScorecardClyde Fortuin hit a composed 75 as South Africa Under-19s chased down their target with four overs to spare to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series against England. Lizaad Williams had earlier claimed three top-order wickets to put England under pressure and a half-century from their captain and wicketkeeper, Ben Duckett, was in ultimately vain.Fortuin, who fell with 41 required for victory, might have gone on to record a century had it not been for a superb catch in the covers by Harry Finch. That gave Jonathan Tattersall (2-36) his second wicket but England’s bowlers otherwise failed to make much of an impact, despite a tight spell from Jamie Overton. Fortuin was involved in an opening partnership of 74 with Andries Gous and put on a further 71 with Diego Rosier as South Africa cruised to victory. After being put in to bat on a green pitch, England were soon in trouble, as Williams claimed both openers and No. 4 Kishen Velani to leave them on 22 for 3. Finch added 60 with Duckett, who went on to reach his own half-century before holing out against Bradley Dial’s offspin. Tattersall (41) fell to another spectacular catch, from Gous, and Overton smashed 38 off 31 balls but England’s total wasn’t quite testing enough.

South Africa have matured as a team – Smith

According to Graeme Smith what really separates top sides from those in the tier below is whether they can know their game and play it

The differences between South Africa and New Zealand were far greater than the ability of one attack to take 20 wickets and the struggle of the other to do half of that or that one batting line-up could score over 300 and the other just over that in both innings combined. According to Graeme Smith what really separates top sides from those in the tier below is whether they can know their game and play it.”The biggest thing is an understanding of what needs to be done and then going and doing it,” Smith said. And for that, it takes experience. South Africa, although not to the same depths as New Zealand, have been through years of what was considered underachievement when they could not reach the top ranking and hovered below. What they learnt in those years was the ability to withstand, what they learnt after that was how to push on. “There is resilience in the squad. We’ve been under big pressure. We’ve fought back from tough positions and we’ve worked our backsides off to get back into games. Then, when we’ve had that opportunity, we’ve driven a bus through the door,” Smith said.At the moment, New Zealand are still on level one but only barely. Sometimes, like in the first innings, they cannot withstand. On other occasions, such as the second, they can for a little while. On every instance over the last 12 months when South Africa have been under that kind of pressure, they have survived. The Oval, where they came back after a sorry day one; Headingley, where Kevin Pietersen’s innings could have blown them away; Lord’s, where Matt Prior may have derailed them; Adelaide, where Faf du Plessis rearguard action was epic; and Perth, where Hashim Amla and Dale Steyn played Australia out of the match, all stand out as examples of that. Those performances have shaped the character of the South African squad that exists now.”There is a good degree of confidence within the squad, which enables you to play that way going forward. If guys have got good performances behind them and come off with some good wins … it’s a lot easier to play that way when you haven’t got that kind of confidence,” Smith said.New Zealand are side that does not have it. Hobart and Colombo aside they have not had a good last year. It’s obvious even to their opposition where their faults lie. “They are struggling to find who fits in where and how can perform in certain role,” Smith said. “It’s more than who bats at No. 4, it’s about behind the scenes and the environment. They are growing there.”South Africa have leaders other than Smith in the dressing-room, a solid top six and a bowling attack that is the envy of the cricketing world. They look a perfectly balanced unit whose only worry is to drive home their No. 1 ranking as hard as they can. “It’s just about winning really, that is what you are defined by in modern-day sport,” Smith said. “If you play games like this and you are dominant and you take the game forward, it’s very nice.”They have been in control before but rarely as much as they were against New Zealand at Newlands, when Smith looked at the scoreboard and saw New Zealand were 26 for 9. “I couldn’t quite believe we were in that situation,” he said. “We bowled superbly in our new spells. We didn’t start sluggish and we asked questions early on.”What was as important as the emphatic nature of the bowling for Smith was the calmness of the batting that followed. “After bowling them out for 45, the attitude we had as a batting unit was so important. It would be easy to go out there and think: ‘What’s happening out here?'” he said. “It was great to see Alviro push through those little sessions where he has found it tough in the past, because his potential is huge.”Petersen’s hundred could end up as the least talked about but most telling act in the match. That would not matter to Smith, even if he doesn’t get his due, because it’s not as much about the individual as it is about the collective. “There’s honesty in the group. I see us as mature team. We’ve grown up now.” New Zealand will hope they can do the same.

Caso contrário, a situação ficará complicada.

ALIÁS, QUEM É A PALMEIRAS TOUR??

Basta entrar no site e terá as seguintes informações:

Simples assim!

AUMENTO DO PREÇO DO INGRESSO

É a Central vazia.

Perguntaremos a quem?

Cobraremos quem for, quando necessário for.

McKay five-for delivers title

Scorecard and ball-by-ball detailsClint McKay’s career-best effort wrecked Sri Lanka’s chase•AFP

Smart stats

  • Australia won the tri-series for the first time since their triumph in 2005-06. In the previous two finals in 2006-07 and 2007-08, Australia had lost to England and India. It is also their 19th win in the tri-series overall.

  • For the first time in the last four finals (when the decider was required), a team went on to win the third final and take the series after losing the second. In their three previous wins against South Africa (1993-94 and 1997-98) and Sri Lanka (2005-06), Australia lost the first final but went on to win the second and third.

  • Clint McKay’s 5 for 28 is his second five-wicket haul in ODIs and the third-best by an Australian bowler against Sri Lanka. His previous five-wicket haul also came against Sri Lanka in Brisbane in 2010.

  • Mckay’s performance is the fifth-best in ODIs in Adelaide. It is also joint-second on the list of best bowling performances in a tournament final against Sri Lanka.

  • David Warner’s aggregate of 311 runs is the highest for a batsman in the finals of a tri-series tournament in Australia. He went past Greg Chappell’s 266 runs in the 1981 series.

  • Upul Tharanga, who went past 4500 runs in ODIs, scored his 24th half-century. In his last six innings against Australia, he has scored a hundred and two half-centuries at an average of 42.20.

Unwavering spells from Clint McKay and the stand-in captain Shane Watson delivered the triangular series trophy to Australia in a fittingly tense third final against a doughty Sri Lanka at Adelaide Oval.As the injured captain Michael Clarke watched intently from the boundary’s edge, Brett Lee and McKay nipped out Sri Lanka’s top four batsmen inside the first 10 overs, after the visitors had threatened to repeat the runaway start they had made in Tuesday’s second match.Upul Tharanga and Lahiru Thirimanne threatened a recovery, but Watson was stinginess itself in the middle overs and McKay returned to help round up the Sri Lankans 16 runs short, the fitting final chapter of a compelling limited-overs tournament. The visitors’ contribution to the summer was underlined by Tillakaratne Dilshan’s selection as player of the series.McKay’s figures were his best in international cricket, and followed a critical 28 at the tail-end of Australia’s innings. Watson will now take a weary but happy team to the West Indies for the ODI portion of the tour, having delivered the first triangular series contested in Australia since 2008.Australia’s fielding and bowling effort was its best for some weeks, and needed to be after the batsmen had cobbled only 231 on a slowing pitch. Led adroitly in the field by Mahela Jayawardene, the visitors had not been perturbed by an opening stand of 75 at better than five runs an over between David Warner and Matthew Wade, and chipped away diligently at the hosts with a combination of spin and reverse swing. No Australian batsman passed 50 as they were bowled out in the final over.Rangana Herath and Farveez Maharoof shared six wickets, while Nuwan Kulasekara also contributed to a tidy ensemble, of which only Lasith Malinga struggled to contain.Herath bowled his best and most incisive spell of the tournament to return 3-36, helped by the use of the same pitch that had hosted Tuesday’s second final. As he had done in that match, Dilshan took the new ball and bowled his overs with thrift and direction.Taking Sri Lanka’s lead, Watson opened up with the spin of Xavier Doherty at the other end to Lee, but the initial gambit did not work. Dilshan and Jayawardene capitalised on Doherty’s errors of line and length, collecting four boundaries from his first two overs as they swept to 0 for 33 from the first four overs.Lee was also slipping in a final effort for the home summer, and he gained a critical break when Dilshan tried to work a lifting delivery to the leg side and managed only to loop a catch to cover from the front-edge of his bat. Kumar Sangakkara looked in truly sparkling touch upon his arrival, and had sprinted to 19 from eight balls when Lee coaxed an edge from his ninth – the high chance very well held by Watson.McKay had replaced Doherty, and was soon settled into a precise spell that exploited the vagaries of a wearing surface to the maximum. Dinesh Chandimal was pinned lbw by a delivery that whirred in at middle stump, before Jayawardene was undone by another that seamed back just enough to beat his forward press and graze off stump.Extremely unsteady at 4 for 53, Thirimanne and Tharanga fought to keep the chase afloat, but the caution forced by the loss of early wickets forced the required rate back up into awkward territory against the older ball. Watson, Nathan Lyon and Daniel Christian bowled intelligently without a wicket, as the match and series edged towards a nervous finish.Thirimanne had added 60 with Tharanga and the Australians had grown tense by the time Watson found a way to eke out a wicket. Angling across Thirimanne, he coaxed a sliced drive that flew low into Warner’s safe hands at backward point. Kapugedera could manage only 7 before he edged another McKay delivery, the deflection held by a diving Wade.Kulasekara threatened a repeat of his Gabba heroics, cracking two boundaries in a brief stay, before Lee followed the batsman’s retreat outside leg stump to cramp his room and prompt a catch to mid-on. Maharoof had been held back to No. 9, and he would provide a calming presence alongside Tharanga as the target was whittled down.Watson had led his side well in testing circumstances, but he perhaps erred in his judgement to let Sri Lanka sneak closer. Having bowled five searching overs for only eight runs, Watson nonetheless preferred two overs of Doherty’s spin, costing 16 runs. By the time he recalled himself to the attack, Watson had only 30 runs to defend from the final five overs. This all made Watson’s sixth over, the 46th of the innings, crucial. He responded in the best possible fashion, conceding only two runs and finding Tharanga’s outside edge. Next over McKay found a way through Herath, and 17 were still required when he yorked Malinga. In the afternoon, Warner and Wade were conscious of the need for greater impetus at the top of the innings and played their shots early on, though taking more liberties against the pacemen than Dilshan’s part-time spin.Warner cleared the boundary once and looked rather more fluent than he had during most of his century on Tuesday, but on 48 he edged a bouncing delivery from Maharoof to Kumar Sangakkara.Wade had been struggling physically, vomiting at one point in what appeared an attack of gastro, but it was a surprise when a punchy Watson picked out Herath on the leg-side boundary off Dilshan’s bowling, the fielder clasping the sharp chance to his chest.Michael Hussey’s stay was brief, Dilshan’s swift gather and throw from short third man finding him short of his ground after he had called Wade through for a single. Sri Lanka’s sense of momentum only grew when Wade’s dogged stay was ended by Herath, who coaxed an edge that Sangakkara held with a juggle.Forrest could make only 3 before misreading Herath’s length and being bowled by a delivery that straightened just enough to beat his defensive blade and flick off stump. David Hussey was given lbw to a ball that would have passed over the top of the stumps, while Christian was undone by a Maharoof slower ball that he could only punch to mid off.McKay and Lee did their best to swell the total in the closing overs, and their contributions were ultimately vital to a fighting victory.Edited by Siddarth Ravindran

SLPL future to be decided on Friday

Sri Lanka Cricket’s new interim committee will meet with SomersetEntertainment Ventures on Friday to discuss the future of the Sri LankaPremier League (SLPL). The previous committee, which created the tournament, was dissolved last week by Sri Lanka’s sports ministry and a new panel wasappointed in its place. ESPNcricinfo understands that the new committee isstill getting up to speed on the tournament and will decide how to go aheadwith it once they have met Somerset.”We have not yet met the SLPL organisers,” Sidath Wettimuny, one of themembers of the new committee, told ESPNcricinfo. “The meeting is scheduled onFriday.” Wettimuny also denied rumours that the tournament had beenpostponed or that it would go ahead with only Sri Lankan players. The change in administration so close to the launch of the tournament is thelatest setback for the SLPL, which has already been hit by the BCCI’srefusal to allow Indian players to take part. The BCCI had withheld itspermission on the grounds that Somerset, which owns the commercial rights, would be handling the contracts for international players and that couldlead to complications should disputes arise over payments. In order toassuage the Indian board, SLC was willing to back the Indian players’contracts so that their financial interests were protected, but that was notenough to satisfy the BCCI. The Indian board has also claimed that former IPL chairman Lalit Modi had a hand in the event, but SLC and Somerset have repeatedly deniedthe allegation, as has Modi. The BCCI’s decision means the tournament does not have a broadcaster for thelucrative Indian market, a situation that makes it much more difficult forthe SLPL to find a secure financial footing, something that the newcommittee will have to consider. One potential incentive for holding the tournament as scheduled is theChampions League T20 in September. The winner of the SLPL receives a spot inthat tournament and since Sri Lanka host Australia in August and September,July is the only available window before the CLT20. However, given that theSLPL’s first game is set for July 19th, SLC would have only 11 daysafter Friday’s meeting to organise the event, including putting in place securityfor the players and the anti-corruption measures required by the ICC.
